Questions people ask

Can self-employed people get a credit card without ITR?

Some issuers don't publish a minimum income for these cards: Roarbank UPI Credit Card (Unity Small Finance Bank), Uni GoldX Credit Card (BOBCARD). They still check your PAN, KYC and credit history, and decide the limit themselves.

How much income do banks ask from self-employed applicants?

Where it's published, the bar is usually higher than for salaried people. For example: IDFC FIRST Millennia Credit Card: ITR accepted as income proof; ₹3 lakh a year; IDFC FIRST Select Credit Card: ITR accepted as income proof; ₹12 lakh a year; IDFC FIRST Wealth Credit Card: ITR accepted as income proof; ₹36 lakh a year; YES BANK POP-CLUB Credit Card: ITR income of ₹7.5 lakh a year or more; age 21-60; existing YES BANK cardholders not eligible; Tata Neu Plus HDFC Bank Credit Card: ITR of ₹6 lakh a year, going by HDFC Bank's FAQ (another part of its page shows a different figure, so confirm with the bank); age 21–65; HDFC Bank MoneyBack+ Credit Card: ITR above ₹6 lakh a year; age 21-65; Indian national; HDFC Bank PIXEL Play Credit Card: ITR above ₹6 lakh a year; age 21-65; Indian national; HDFC Bank Diners Club Privilege Credit Card: ITR above ₹6 lakh a year; age 21-65; Indian national; Swiggy BLCK HDFC Bank Credit Card: ITR above ₹12 lakh a year; Indian national; Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card: ITR above ₹12 lakh a year; age 21–65; HDFC Bank Regalia Gold Credit Card: ITR above ₹18 lakh a year; age 21-65; Indian national; Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card: ITR above ₹15 lakh a year; age 21-65; Indian national; HDFC Bank Diners Club Black Metal Edition Credit Card: ITR above ₹30 lakh a year; age 21-65; Indian national; Axis Bank Magnus Credit Card: ITR of ₹24 lakh a year; age 18-70; resident in India.

Which of these cards are lifetime free?

Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card, CheQ AU Credit Card (AU Small Finance Bank), HSBC RuPay Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card, IDFC FIRST Millennia Credit Card, IDFC FIRST Select Credit Card, IDFC FIRST Wealth Credit Card, IDFC FIRST WOW! Credit Card, OneCard (One Credit Card), Roarbank UPI Credit Card (Unity Small Finance Bank), Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card (Visa + complimentary RuPay), Uni GoldX Credit Card (BOBCARD). They charge no joining or annual fee on the bank's own terms.

Why aren't more cards listed?

We only list a card here when the bank's own pages say self-employed applicants can apply. Many banks don't say either way, so we leave those out rather than guess.
