Questions people ask
Which zero forex card gives the most on travel?
Among the cards we compare, the Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card (Visa + complimentary RuPay) from Federal Bank is first, at 4% value back on travel. Rates are capped on most cards, so check the monthly limit on its page.
Is there a lifetime free option?
Yes: Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card (Visa + complimentary RuPay), IDFC FIRST Classic Credit Card, IDFC FIRST Millennia Credit Card, IDFC FIRST Select Credit Card, IDFC FIRST Wealth Credit Card, IDFC FIRST WOW! Credit Card, Suryoday SFB Stable Money RuPay Platinum Credit Card, Uni GoldX Credit Card (BOBCARD), OneCard (One Credit Card). They charge no joining or annual fee on the bank's own terms.
Which of these cards work on UPI?
Scapia Federal Bank Credit Card (Visa + complimentary RuPay), Suryoday SFB Stable Money RuPay Platinum Credit Card, Uni GoldX Credit Card (BOBCARD), IDFC FIRST Bank HPCL FIRST Power Credit Card, IDFC FIRST Bank HPCL FIRST Power+ Credit Card. Only RuPay credit cards can be linked to UPI apps, and UPI rewards are often lower than card rewards.
How did you check these numbers?
Every fee, reward rate and eligibility rule comes from the issuing bank's official pages and terms, last verified 20 Oct 2026. Where a bank doesn't publish what a reward point is worth, we leave the rate blank instead of guessing.
What does zero forex markup mean?
When you pay in a foreign currency, abroad or on a foreign website, the bank converts the amount to rupees and most cards add a fee on top, commonly 3.5%. A zero forex card adds no such fee. Every card on this page charges 1% or less: the IDFC FIRST cards we compare, Scapia Federal, Uni GoldX and Stable Money's Suryoday RuPay Platinum charge nothing, HSBC Premier charges 0.99% and OneCard 1%. Some banks also charge a markup when a foreign merchant bills you in rupees; OneCard's 1% applies there too.
Is GST charged on forex markup?
Yes. The markup is a bank fee, so GST is added to it, and the markups we show are before GST. On ₹1 lakh of foreign-currency spend, a 3.5% markup costs ₹3,500 plus GST and a 1% markup such as OneCard's costs ₹1,000 plus GST. A card with no markup has no fee to add GST to, though GST still applies to its other charges, such as late fees.
Which zero forex credit card is lifetime free?
Several cards here charge no joining fee, no annual fee and no markup: IDFC FIRST Classic, Millennia, Select, Wealth and WOW!, Scapia Federal, Uni GoldX and Stable Money's Suryoday RuPay Platinum. OneCard is lifetime free too, with a 1% markup. What you need to qualify differs: IDFC FIRST asks for ₹3 lakh a year of income for Millennia, ₹12 lakh for Select and ₹36 lakh for Wealth, while WOW! and the Suryoday card are issued against a fixed deposit instead of income proof. The table above ranks them by markup, then fee, then travel rewards.
Do zero forex cards earn rewards on international spends?
Not always. Under a notice IDFC FIRST issued in September 2026, Classic, Millennia, Select, Wealth, Power, Power+ and SWYP earn no reward points on international spends from 26 October 2026; Mayura keeps earning. Uni GoldX gives no coins on international spends either. You still save the markup on these cards, you just earn nothing on top of it. Each card's page lists the spends it leaves out of rewards.
Last verified 20 Oct 2026 on each issuer's official page. Fees and rewards change; check the issuer's terms before you apply.
