Questions people ask
Is the Swiggy BLCK HDFC Bank Credit Card worth it in 2026?
Yes, if you spend about ₹1,100 or more a month on dining and food delivery. Below that, the CheQ AU Credit Card (AU Small Finance Bank) pays 2.5% for free. The catch: earns nothing on fuel, rent, wallet loads and government payments.
Is the Swiggy BLCK HDFC Bank Credit Card lifetime free?
No. It costs ₹1,000 to join and ₹1,000 a year, plus GST. The ₹1,000 joining fee is waived if you spend ₹75,000 within 90 days of getting the card. From the second year, the ₹1,000 annual fee is waived if you spend ₹2 lakh in the year. Existing Swiggy HDFC Bank cardholders who switch to this card get the first year free if their old card charged a fee; if their old card was lifetime free, they pay ₹1,000 a year.

No cashback on fuel, rent, government payments, wallet loads, gift and prepaid cards, jewellery, gaming, education fees, any EMI (even if you close it early), cash advances, travellers' cheques, buying foreign currency, card fees, or payments made through HDFC's SmartBuy portal or SmartPay bill payments. Swiggy Money wallet and Swiggy Liquor orders don't get the 10%. Swiggy orders under ₹249 earn nothing, and other spends need at least ₹100 per transaction. The 5% applies only to online payments at the merchants and categories HDFC Bank lists and depends on how the merchant codes the payment, so a purchase can earn 1% instead. HDFC's two current lists of 5% merchants differ slightly, so check the bank's list before counting on 5% at a particular store. Utility bills and insurance premiums paid directly earn 1%.
