Questions people ask

Which loan apps are RBI approved?

RBI doesn't approve apps. It publishes a directory of digital lending apps reported by regulated lenders, and 15 of the 15 apps we checked are listed there (checked 21 Oct 2026). Always confirm the lender named in the Key Fact Statement.

How do I check if a loan app is genuine?

Look the app up in RBI's directory of digital lending apps, confirm the bank or NBFC it names is regulated, and read the Key Fact Statement, which must show the lender, APR and fees. Walk away if it asks for a fee before paying out.

How can I spot a fake loan app?

Warning signs: it isn't in RBI's directory, doesn't name the lending bank or NBFC, asks for a fee before the loan is paid out, wants your contacts or photos, or gives no Key Fact Statement. Genuine loans are paid into your bank account.

What should I do if a loan app harasses me?

The lender and app must name grievance officers; complain to them first. If there's no reply in 30 days, or it's unsatisfactory, complain to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in. Report unauthorised lenders on RBI's Sachet portal (sachet.rbi.org.in).

Which loan app has the lowest interest rate?

The table is ranked by lowest published starting rate. The rate you're offered depends on your credit score, income and the lender's checks, and is usually above the starting rate, so compare the APR in each Key Fact Statement.

Is a loan app the same as the lender?

Often not. Many apps arrange loans from banks or NBFCs behind them. The table shows who lends for each app, and your Key Fact Statement names the exact lender for your loan.
