Questions people ask
Which lender has the lowest personal loan interest rate?
Among the lenders we compare, the lowest published starting rates are from IDFC FIRST Bank (from 9.99% a year), Poonawalla Fincorp (from 9.99% a year), InCred (10% to 36% a year). The starting rate goes to applicants with strong credit and income; most people are offered more, so compare the rate range and the fee.
What is the difference between a bank, an NBFC and a lending app?
Banks and NBFCs lend their own money and are regulated by the RBI. A lending app arranges loans that a partner bank or NBFC actually gives; RBI rules require the app to name that lender, and the Key Fact Statement shows it. 9 of the lenders here are apps; the table shows who lends for each.
What does a personal loan really cost?
Interest plus the processing fee and 18% GST on that fee, which is taken out of the loan before you get it. Some lenders also charge for foreclosure or part-prepayment, or add insurance. The Key Fact Statement shows the annual percentage rate (APR) with all of these; use our EMI calculator to see the total for your amount.
Will checking offers affect my credit score?
When a lender checks your credit to make you an offer, it may be recorded as an enquiry on your credit report. A few enquiries matter little, but many applications in a short time can lower your score, so check offers once and apply where you're most likely to be approved.
How did you check these numbers?
Every rate, fee and limit comes from the lender's own website, Key Fact Statement or schedule of charges, last verified 18 Oct 2026. Where a lender doesn't publish a number, we say so rather than guess.
