Questions people ask
Is ICICI Sapphiro better than Rubyx?
Only on perks. Both earn 2 points per ₹100 in India, 4 per ₹100 on international spends and 1 per ₹100 on utilities and insurance, and ICICI doesn't publish a rupee value for either card's points. Sapphiro's milestone bonus goes up to 20,000 points a year (4,000 at ₹4 lakh, then 2,000 per extra ₹1 lakh), against Rubyx's 15,000 (3,000 at ₹3 lakh, then 1,500 per extra ₹1 lakh). Sapphiro costs ₹1,500 more a year and needs twice the spend for its fee waiver.
Which has better lounge access?
Sapphiro: 4 domestic airport visits a quarter after ₹75,000 of spend in the previous quarter, plus 2 international visits a year. Rubyx gives 2 domestic airport visits a quarter on the same ₹75,000 rule, no international visits, and 2 railway lounge visits a quarter with no spend condition.
What movie benefits do they give?
Sapphiro gives buy-one-get-one BookMyShow tickets (up to ₹500 off, twice a month). Rubyx gives 25% off movie tickets (up to ₹150), twice a month each on BookMyShow and INOX. Since April 2026, both need ₹25,000 of card spend in the previous quarter.
What do the welcome vouchers include?
Both give vouchers when the joining fee is paid: ICICI values Rubyx's at over ₹15,000 and Sapphiro's at over ₹13,000. Rubyx's include Tata CLiQ (₹2,000), EaseMyTrip (₹2,000 for flights, ₹3,000 for holidays), Croma (₹1,000), ₹10,000 off an Elivaas stay of ₹50,000 or more, and 3 months of EazyDiner Prime, so part of the value needs further spending.
