Questions people ask
Which earns more, HDFC Infinia or Axis Magnus?
At the values each bank publishes, Infinia: about 3.3% on most spends when points go to flights and hotels on SmartBuy, or at most 1% as statement credit. Magnus earns about 1.2% on the first ₹1.5 lakh of eligible spend each calendar month and 3.5% above that, up to your credit limit plus ₹1.5 lakh, so its overall rate passes Infinia's only above about ₹20 lakh a month. Magnus points move to 20 airline and hotel partners at 5 points to 2 miles, which we don't value in rupees.
Which has better lounge access, Infinia or Magnus?
Infinia: unlimited visits in India (swipe the card) and abroad (Priority Pass) for the primary and each add-on cardholder, with no spend condition; guests pay $27 plus GST a visit. Magnus gives unlimited international visits to the primary cardholder plus 4 guest visits a card year, and unlimited visits to Axis's listed domestic lounges only after ₹50,000 of spend in the previous 3 calendar months.
Can I apply for HDFC Infinia?
No. Infinia is by invitation only: HDFC Bank assesses customers itself, tells them personally if they qualify, and publishes no income or age criteria. Since April 2026, keeping it needs ₹18 lakh of card spend in a financial year or ₹50 lakh of average balances with HDFC Bank. Magnus is open to apply: Axis asks for a net salary or IT return of ₹24 lakh a year, and age 18 to 70.
Do they earn on bills, rent and fuel?
Infinia earns on utility and telecom bills, up to 2,000 points a month on each, but nothing on rent. Magnus earns nothing on utility or telecom bills and earns on rent only up to ₹50,000 a month. Neither earns on fuel; Infinia waives the 1% fuel surcharge up to ₹1,000 a statement cycle and Magnus up to ₹400.
